Disability insurance is coverage that will replace approximately 70% of your gross income in the event of an accident or illness that prevents you from working.   This remittance is tax tree.  Critical Insurance will pay a single, one-time lump sum benefit, but disability insurance is a monthly check.  The funds can be taxable or non taxable based on the terms of the policy, whether it is an individual policy, or part of a group plan.

Careful consideration must be given to the structure of your benefits plan.  Employment status as well as other factors all play a part in making the correct selection for your needs.
